A Simple, No-Bake Treat
No-bake desserts come in handy, especially when you need one quick and on the table in less than 30 minutes. That's why these Lucky Charms Treats are absolutely perfect.
All you need is 15 minutes to make these and then an additional 10-15 minutes for them to set and cool in the pan. Boom. You have a delicious and very colorful dessert ready to serve.
I love to make this Lucky Charm recipe around the Spring holidays, like St. Patrick's Day and Easter. The colorful marshmallows just go so well during those times of the year! And who doesn't love a little color in their dessert? I know the kids sure do!
Tips Before Making:
- Prepare Pan: Grease your baking pan (I used 9x13, but you can also use two 8x8 inch pans) with non-stick spray to avoid the treats sticking after setting.
- Melting Marshmallows: It's important to constantly stir your marshmallows until melted. You don't want them to burn. I like to use a wooden spoon for this.
- Parchment Paper: The trick to getting the treats pressed down into the prepared pan is to use parchment (or wax) paper. Cut a large piece of parchment paper, fold it in half, and push the Lucky Charms treats into place.
- Plastic Knife: For clean even cuts, use a plastic knife. It glides right through the bars without sticking!
Ingredients Needed:
Just 3 simple ingredients is all you need to make these bars!
- Unsalted Butter: Adds a subtle buttery flavor.
- Lucky Charms: The main component to this dessert.
- Mini Marshmallows: Helps the cereal to stick together.
How To Make Lucky Charms Treats:
As stated up above, these colorful treats are extremely easy to make. In about 15 minutes you will have made your own Lucky Charms treats. Let's get started!
- Saucepan: Melt the butter over med-low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted.
- Remove From Heat: Immediately remove the pan from the heat and stir in the Lucky Charms cereal. Once completely coated with the melted marshmallows, press into the prepared pan using the parchment paper.
- Cool: Allow the bars to cool for 10-15 minutes on the counter before cutting them into bars.
For easy cutting, use a plastic knife. It glides right through the treats without sticking!
