    This homemade pumpkin pie spice recipe takes individual spices to create your own spice blend. And chances are, you already have these spices in your pantry!

    All you need are 5 simple ingredients and just 5 minutes. It's that easy!

    • Spices: ​You want all the spices you're using to be finely ground. Whole spices won't work.
    • Expiration Date: ​Before you start, check the freshness of your spices. If they're expired. then they won't work for your spice blend.
    • Supplies: Here are the jars I used. It comes in a pack of 4. And then these chalkboard labels are my favorite. They also come with pens!

    Ingredients Needed

    Here are some notes on the ingredients we'll be using. For the full ingredients list, look at the recipe card below.

    • Ground cinnamon
    • Ground ginger
    • Ground nutmeg
    • Ground cloves
    • Ground allspice

    For all of these spices, choose your favorite brand.

    Ingredients: cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice.

    Instructions

    Here are the step by step instructions on how to make your own pumpkin pie spice blends.

    Step 1: In a small bowl, mix together all of the spices with a whisk until thoroughly combined.

    Step 2: Place the spice blend in an airtight container or jar. Feel free to store it in your spice drawer or any dark place.

    This pumpkin spice mixture will stay fresh for 1-2 years, depending on the expiration of the spices. 

    Be sure to keep them stored at room temperature in a dry place.

    ​Uses For Pumpkin Spice

    If you love making your own pumpkin spice lattes, you could easily use this homemade pumpkin spice to add a pinch or two to your coffee. Any hot drink really!

    I have this pumpkin spice banana bread that's topped with a pumpkin spice sugar. It's so delicious!

    • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
    • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
    • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
    • ½ teaspoon ground allspice

    Instructions:
     

    • In a small bowl, mix all of the ingredients together. Store your homemade pumpkin spice in an airtight container or in a jar.
    • This will last in your pantry, if kept airtight, for up to 2 years.
